The Calispell PowerhouseThe Calispell Powerhouse, originally known as the Dalkena Generating Station, is located on Calispell Creek, near Power Lake Dam. The plant was originally built in 1920 by the Dalkena Power Company for use by the town of Dalkena and its sawmill.

Water Levels in 2019Due to a combination of low snowpack and precipitation, we are experiencing lower-than-usual water levels at Sullivan Lake. We continue to operate Sullivan Dam at minimum flows in compliance with our license requirements.

During the summer months, our staff would be happy to discuss our electric generation facility with you. Tours begin in the Visitor Center with an explanation and demonstration of how electricity is generated at Box Canyon Dam.

While the majority of our customers get their electricity from the PUD, a handful of customers have chosen to install customer-owned generators in order to supply some, or all, of their electricity needs.
