Pend Oreille PUD wants to keep you and your family safe. We offer several informational tools and platforms to educate everyone from first responders to our local classrooms. We offer a customized educational experience for your classroom (Grades K-12). Please email education@popud.

Install LED Lights - LED lights can be 90 percent more efficient than the old, traditional lights and will end up saving you money in the long run. Try LED Christmas lights to save on your winter bills too.

Rebate Incentives
The PUD offers incentives to current residential customers within Pend Oreille PUD’s service territory under the following programs: smart thermostats, ductless heat pumps and clothes washers. Follow the guidelines indicated below for each program to qualify.

Box Canyon Hydroelectric ProjectNestled in the Selkirk Mountain Range in the northeast corner of Washington State, the Box Canyon Hydroelectric Project produces low-cost electricity from water, a clean and renewable energy source.

Increased Production and Efficiency
In August 2009, the first of the 50+ year old turbines was lifted out of the Box Canyon power house. The following three turbines were replaced in 2012, 2013 and 2015.
Upstream Fish Passage

Habitat Enhancement EffortsAs part of its FERC license for Box Canyon Dam, the PUD is required to provide upstream fish passage for three native migratory salmonid (salmon trout and Char) target species: Bull Trout, Westslope Cutthroat Trout, and Mountain Whitefish.
