Metaline Falls Lehigh Hill Water Project

In 2019 the Town of Metaline Falls and the Metaline Falls PUD Water System received a grant from Washington State Department of Commerce, a Community Development Block Grant, in the amount of $735,000 for distribution main replacement project.  Major components of the project include replacing approximately 5,100 feet of deteriorated water distribution main, installing water meters/reconnections, hydrants, isolation, and pressures valves.  This project has been engineered, designed (by Welch Comer & Associates), and recently went out for bid (fall 2022).  The contract was awarded to Interstate Concrete & Asphalt and construction is anticipated to begin in early spring or summer of 2023.

The project consists of the following two areas:

Upper Lehigh at Hill and Robarge Road

Work is anticipated to include replacing the watermain and putting new services to existing meters.  The majority of work will be done in the right-of-way. There will likely be unexpected, as well as scheduled outages during construction and the PUD will make its best efforts to notify customers in advance of all planned outages.

Lower Lehigh Hill at Brylopher Lane and Rachel Road

Work is anticipated to include new watermains and meter relocations (when necessary) to move water meters into a right-of-way or a better location during this project.  For those water meters needing moved, we will be asking you to complete a right-of-entry form allowing the contractor access to move your existing meter. Once the work is complete, the contractor will clean up the yard areas and seed grass areas as appropriate.
